CITGO Petroleum Corporation Scholarship Program is offered to children of CITGO employees and retirees who meet scholarship qualifications. Students must have a grade point average of 3.2 or above and plan to enroll in a four-year accredited college or university.
Scholarships are $4,000 the first year and renewable for three additional years until graduation from college; full-time college enrollment is required. Since the scholarship program began in 1987, CITGO has awarded more than $2.5 million in scholarships. The number of scholarships awarded thus far is 270.
Qualifying students can be a biological child, adopted child, stepchild, or a child over whom a CITGO employee has legal guardianship. Once the scholarship has been awarded, it is renewable each year as long as the student maintains at least a 2.5 grade point average.
The deadline for this scholarship is usually in APRIL of each year, and the award amount is usually $4,000.
