Go Red Multicultural Scholarship Fund For Women
The Go Red Multicultural scholarship champions greater inclusion of multicultural women in the nursing and medical industries, address important gaps in treatment, and ensure that all Americans have an opportunity to work with their healthcare providers to make the best choices that lead to good health.
Sponsored by the American Heart Association and made possible by the Macy's Multicultural Fund, the scholarship program aims to ease the financial burden to students and increase the number of underrepresented minorities in medicine.
To qualify, applicants must be female, a minority (Hispanic, African-American or other minority origin); must be a U.S. citizen/permanent resident; must be currently enrolled in an accredited college, university, health care institution or program in the U.S.; and must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
Applicants must also submit an online application, a community involvement description, a transcript, two letters of recommendation, and an original personal essay.
The deadline for this scholarship is usually in DECEMBER of each year, and the award amount is usually $2,500.
