Jerry Bartow Scholarship Fund

Jerry Bartow Scholarship Fund
The Jerry Bartow Scholarship Fund, offered by the Black Executive Exchange Program (BEEP), awards three scholarships each year for undergraduate students who are attending historically black colleges and universities (HBCU). Students must major in business, engineering, technology, or education.

Students must be in their sophomore, junior or senior year of college before applying. They must also have a grade point average of 3.0 or above to qualify. The scholarship is for Black (non-Hispanic) students enrolled full-time at a four-year college or university.

The scholarship is made possible by the Black Executive Exchange Program (BEEP), established in 1969 as a non-profit organization working to prepare African American students for corporate careers. They also bring together HBCU's and African American business executives to prepare students and increase their opportunities in the work world. The efforts of BEEP follow the mission of the National Urban League to help African Americans attain social and economic equality.

The scholarship was formed in 1997 and is named after Jerry Bartow whose hard work supported the development of the Black Executive Exchange Program and the National Urban League. Funding comes from private donations and contributions from corporations, and from the annual Jerome E. Bartow Scholarship Fund Golf Tournament. Since its beginning, over a million students have received scholarship assistance to attend historically Black colleges and universities.

The deadline for this scholarship is usually in FEBRUARY of each year, and the award amount is usually $5,000.
