Denny's Hungry for Education Scholarship Program offers 8 different scholarships to high school and college students residing in 12 specific states (CA, FL,GA, IL, NV, SC, TX, NM, NY, CO, AZ, DC). A total of 34 scholarships will be awarded.
There are various scholarships for African American students (via the Tom Joyner Foundation and National Urban League), Hispanic students (via HACU), and Asian-Pacific Islander students (via the USPAACC). Other scholarships are targeted towards students from specific states. Each scholarship has its own criteria for grade point averages and SAT or ACT scores. All scholarships require an essay on how Denny's can impact childhood hunger in the United States.
Students must be currently enrolled or plan to enroll in an accredited two-year or four-year college or university. The scholarship money can be used for tuition, fees, books, supplies, and other course-related expenses. All applicants must be U.S. citizens.
The Denny's Hungry for Education scholarship program is interested in the opinions and ideas of young students on how to fight childhood hunger in their communities. The scholarship values their thoughts and also rewards them for their interest in the lives of others and their pursuit of higher education.
The deadline for this scholarship is usually in SEPTEMBER of each year, and the award amount is usually $1,000 - $3,000.
