Scholastic Art & Writing Awards
Scholastic Art & Writing Awards offers students in grades 7 through 12 an opportunity to earn a scholarship for their art or writing. Award winners will receive scholarships to attend one of many participating art universities, colleges and institutes across the U.S.

This is a prestigious award that boasts past winners such as Andy Warhol, Truman Capote, Robert Redford, Stephen King, and many more. Students may submit artistic works in any of 28 categories that include literary arts such as short stories, science fiction, and poetry or visual works of art such as paintings.

In addition to winning scholarships, students will also have their works of art published or displayed in cities across the U.S. All artwork submitted will be judged by artistic experts on creativity, originality, and technical skill. More than 900,000 works of art have been submitted through the program in the past five years.

The scholarships are sponsored by The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, formed in 1923, through their non-profit organization, The Alliance for Young Artists & Writers. The purpose of the scholarships is to recognize the artistic talents of young teens and support their education in the arts.

The deadline for this scholarship is usually in MARCH of each year, and the award amount VARIES.
