Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI) Scholarship provides financial assistance to Latino college students who are pursing associates, undergraduate and graduate degrees. Students must attend college full-time and have financial need.
Eligible students must attend full-time an accredited community college or four-year college or university in the U.S. or Puerto Rico. Students must be leaders and have an interest in their communities demonstrated through volunteer work. Although no specific grade point average is required, students must be academically strong.
Scholarship awards may be used for tuition, room and board, textbooks, and other educational-related expenses. The purpose of the scholarship is to provide more college opportunities for Latino students who have excellent leadership potential and a strong commitment to improving their communities.
CHCI is a non-profit organization based in Washington D.C. started in 1978 by a small group of Hispanic members of Congress. Their mission is to foster the next generation of Latino leaders in the U.S. The organization provides scholarships, internships and fellowships that are designed to educate and empower Latino students.
The deadline for this scholarship is usually in APRIL of each year, and the award amount is usually $1,000 - $5,000.
