Center for Alcohol Policy Essay Contest
The Center for Alcohol Policy Essay Contest is open to all persons over the age of 18. Applicants may enter the competition by submitting an essay on a topic related to prohibition.
Three awards are given every year and include a first, second and third prize winner. Applicants can include students over the age of 18, as well as members of the general public. The topic changes every year but is always related to the subject of prohibition.
The contest is sponsored by the Center for Alcohol Policy, a non-profit organization based in Alexandria, Virginia, whose purpose is to educate the public and government policy makers on issues relating to alcohol. This includes underage drinking, drunk driving, and the effects of drinking alcohol.
The purpose of the contest is to encourage thinking among the public on the subject of alcohol and its regulation in the U.S. The Center for Alcohol Policy has been offering the contest since 2007.
The deadline for this scholarship is usually in DECEMBER of each year, and the award amount is usually $1,000 - $5,000.
